Product DescriptionK2 is concentrating on Its Baseline Technology this season and has re-mastered its entire range to push the boundaries of ski performance. With K2's baseline Technology they have combined camber with varying degrees of rocker, proving benefits of each to create a range of superior skis. This allows the camber to supply the edge hold, control and rebound, while rocker provides a greater degree of versatility, ease of use and an increased sweet spot.
All K2's women specific skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex this allows the ski to be lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, yet sturdy and high performance. Woman's models are also built with the side cut shifted two centremeters forward relative to the standard sidecut for a mens ski. This positions the average woman in an optimum position over the ski for more control and easier turn initiation.
The K2 Lotta Luv sports an 82mm waist and progressive sidecut, it also offers expert level women skiers ultimate performance and unmatched versatility. Metal Laminate construciton and MOD Monic dampen the ride in the most varied terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker provides added tip lift and quicker turn initiation in any condition.
Features of the Lotta Luv include:Catch Free Rocker: Catch-free rocker is designed for developing skiers. This elevated tip and tail assures effortless initiation at slow speeds, stability throughout the turn, and ease of release for added confidence and control.
MOD Technology and MOD Monic: This functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski providing a stronger edge hold and a higher degree of power and control. MOD is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. They have altered the structure of the Mod Monic (this is the solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with Mod Structure to focus mass damping at a targeted area) for both mens and womens skis. On the mens skis you will now find that the Mod Monic is slightly heavier and X shaped to further compliment the MOD structure form.
Metal Laminate: Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, Metal laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built for the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fibreglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakeable performance ideal for expert level skiers.
Metal Laminate on womens models are built with a thinner layer of Titanal, this offers an overall weight reduction while still providing expert level skiers the benefits of performance and dampening consistent in this construction method.
Progressive Sidecut: This is a combination of two different sidecuts that enhances the versatility of wider waisted skis. Previously sidecut theory is based using a single radius, however this becomes overpowering on wider skis. The use of a progressive sidecut guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance.
Our OpinionAlways a firm favourite during the ski tests this again came out on top as one of the best skis we tried. We were pleasently surprised how good on piste this ski was, allowing some beautiful carving turns to be placed without the feeling of a slow edge to edge transfer.
