The Volkl name is synonymous with alpine ski racing and they have been active in international professional racing since 1970. This has led them to develop the new SPEEDWALL and POWER SWITCH (INDIVIDUAL) technology for the 2010/11 season.

The new RACETIGER Race carver PSi can be transformed with the new POWERSWITCH INDIVIDUAL technology to provide a custom setup perfectly matched for each individual skier. This really benefits those skiers who want an incrediably stiff race ski but want a slightly tamer version for general piste skiing. It is constructed with Full Power Grip, which means easyier / more pronounced transferance of power from your boots into the skis and also a steel construction which makes it slightly more weighty and stronger to throw around on-piste.

Power Switch individual.: World cup athletes have skis custom built for them, now the recreational skier can too! This innovative design allows each individual pair of skis to be tailored to your own abilities and needs. The new system can be adjusted with a special tool (key) to match the individual skiers characteristics of weight, age and ability. Here in shop we can also adjust each skis stiffness by adjusting a recess screw in the rear of the ski which either compresses or relaxes a carbon rod built into the skis core. This will adjust the flexibility and thus the grip and agility of the skis.

Power Grip:: Power Grip:
In terms of construction, POWER GRIP achieves more edge pressure in the binding area with its new 3D design. In comparison to the DOUBLE GRIPXTD construction, the ski construction has a slightly lower side wall, which makes the contact between ski boot and edge more direct. In a precise interplay with the 3MOTION binding system, which has been designed especially for POWER GRIP, the ski achieves an optimum relation from the powerful edge grip, rounder flex in the binding area and an athletic, but not overly aggressive nature. More grip for less effort


Our Opinion
Due to this ski coming with the Individual Power Switch it is truly adaptive. Being only 69mm underfoot made it very good in fast carving turns and is a great price for a intermediate to advanced piste ski. Please note it is hard to adjust when on the go, and so should be done by a ski shop or qualified technician.

This ski is great for anyone looking for a piste ski due to its ability to be adapted to suit individual skiers characteristics. PLEASE NOTE: When we sell skis and snowboards, we book them into our workshop for a full clean and wax before shipping. The wax supplied on new boards and skis is NOT suitable for long term use. By waxing properly before use, the life of your new skis or board will be prolonged, and it will simply perform better! We offer this service free of charge.

For skis, we will also send you an email asking you to confirm your weight, height, ski ability and the length of your ski boot, which is stamped on the heel of your boot normally.
