SERVICING SKIS AND SNOWBOARDS

New for 09/10 - full binding testing, analysis and setting with our new Wintersteiger binding test machine

We pride ourselves on giving a premium service and this can only be achieved by tuning and servicing of winter sports equipment by hand and not just relying on machines. It is a more prolonged process, but ultimately will result in improved performance of your equipment, and also help enhance the life of your board or skis.

We can also offer servicing by post, where we can collect and return your skis and board for you. There is an £15 charge in addition to the service costs below.

And we have our new "SKIS-OUT SKIS-IN" service where for customers within a certain distance from our workshop we will collect and return your skis or board by hand, for a small additional charge of £5. Click here for more information on this service, which is subject to availability.

Here are the basic services we provide, with further pricing on request:

FULL SERVICE Skis - £25 Board - £30

- Thorough cleaning of bases and edges via Holmenkol Wax AB remover and hot wax scrape to remove impurities
- Inspection of bases and edges. Repair any standard base scratches with P-Tex gun and sand
- Setting of base edge and side edge to factory spec or customers own requirements
- Hot wax of bases with a waxing iron by hand (not a machine) followed by brush structuring
- Final cloth polish, removal of wax from edges and application of Zardoz NOTWax Teflon treatment
- Visual inspection only of bindings and tighten any loose binding bolts

EDGE & WAX ONLY Skis - £20 Board - £22

- Thorough cleaning of bases and edges via Holmenkol Wax AB remover and hot wax scrape to remove impurities
- Inspection of bases and edges. Advise customer if repair is required (a full service)
- Setting of base edge and side edge to factory spec or customers own requirement
- Hot wax of bases with a waxing iron by hand (not a machine) followed by brush structuring
- Final cloth polish and removal of wax from edges
- Visual inspection only of bindings and tighten any loose binding bolts

WAX ONLY Skis - £12 Board - £15 (Ideal for summer storage too)

- Thorough cleaning of bases and edges via Holmenkol Wax AB remover and hot wax scrape to remove impurities
- Inspection of bases and edges. Advise customer if repair is required (if repair is requested then the job will be charged as a full service)
- Hot wax of bases with a waxing iron by hand(not a machine) followed by brush structuring

Note: Summer Storage Option:

Before you go on your next trip you should scrape off the wax from the base and edges. Alternatively contact us to arrange for the wax to be scraped and structured so that the equipment is ready to use. This is charged at just £5.00. We will also check your edges at this point.

FURTHER OPTIONS (Our fully equipped workshop undertakes all repairs, call for an initial consultation)

BINDING TESTING AND ANALYSIS - £20.00 / Pair Including Report
We now have a Wintersteiger binding test machine, to allow us to test bindings to the latest DIN requirements. There are very few of these machine currently active in the UK. If you have concerns over your bindings, or want them tested and set to perfection, then we can do this for you and provide a printed report for your inspection.

We cannot recommend testing your bindings highly enough. We have seen first hand what a malfunctioning binding can do, so treat your bindings and yourself to this service.

WHILE YOU WAIT SERVICING
We do not charge for this service if you call in advance and book in. We can offer a same day service also. If you have not booked in then there is a surcharge of £5 to cover excess materials used for the servicing of just one piece of equipment.

BINDING MOUNTING From £15 - £40 depending on binding system (IN ADDITION TO ABOVE PRICES)
For skis we will use one of our extensive range of binding jigs to mount your bindings correctly and safely onto your skis. We will then test the mounting in our Wintersteiger binding test machine. For snowboards, we will mount your bindings to your requirements, and can give you advice on this if required, ensuring the bolts are all carefully mounted and secured to the correct torque.

WAX LAYERING Skis £10 Boards £12 (Recommended for new skis & boards)
- Hot-wax clean of bases to remove delivery wax
- Application of a minimum of 2 coats of branded universal wax to build up base
- Structure bases with a brush

PERFORMANCE WAX Skis £4 Boards £5 (IN ADDITION TO ABOVE PRICES)
Application of performance Holmenkol or Swix wax for specific conditions e.g. artificial snow, warmer snow conditions, extreme cold conditions (e.g. Canada)
