Backcountry Ski Rental

Here at Edge & Wax we carry some amazing products, and much like any sport there are stand out products that you hear great things about, but don’t know if you wish to commit your hard earned cash until you have tried them. Not in a shop, not round your friends house, but where it counts – out on the mountain. So we have selected some key products where we have been in this very same position and wished such a service existed. We keep things as simple as we can, rental is per ski trip of up to 12 days. A deposit and ID will be required. Full terms and conditions will be available on this page along with application forms when the service launches in October.

SHIPPING AND COLLECTION

The prices shown below are for collection and delivery back to our showroom. We can also offer this service by courier, and will arrange delivery and collection of the item, subject to an additional charge of £16 to cover shipping out to you, and then return to us. This is using the Fedex Courier service. When you return from your trip please contact us to arrange collection as soon as possible so that you do not incur any late return charges.

SCOTT CRUS'AIR SKI TOURING PACKAGE RENTAL 

If you want to give back country ski touring a try, then this would have to be up there as the ultimate rental skis.

We will prepare a pair of 2012 Scott Crus’Air skis equipped with Fritschi Eagle 10 touring bindings. We will supply a pair of Scott/Colltex Skins pre-cut. And we will provide these all in a Sportube Series 1 hard case ready for the flight.

Just add your own poles and boots.

SNOWPULSE AVALANCHE BAG RENTAL

The biggest innovation in backcountry safety in recent times, we offer a rental service for this excellent system. You will be renting a Snowpulse Highmark 22 airbag, with 22 Litres of storage capacity, an air deployed avalanche airbag and instruction DVD.

We can give training on site for this also. Don’t be tempted to let it off for fun though, not only can that be dangerous, but we will then be charging you for the refill!

BCA Tracker 2 Avalanche Transceiver, Shovel & Probe Package

Using the latest B.CA. Tracker 2 three antenna transceivers and the highly regarded BCA Tour Shovel/Probe Combination Kit, we felt there was a need for this service. We had a lot of customers asking for us to do this, as a transceiver is essential if you are heading away from the piste.

We can give training on site for this also. It will be supplied with 100% new batteries for optimum performance and an instructional DVD. The shovel is light weight, strong, and the probe stores inside the shovel handle. The best tracker and shovel/probe combo at a great rental price.

SKI~MOJO KNEE BRACE SYSTEM RENTAL

 Find out just how good this system is for those requiring upper leg and knee support with our ski~mojo rental service.

Available in two weight options, and free set-up on site is available. Used by staff in our own showroom, the system reduces loads on the upper legs (Quads and hamstring muscles) by up to 40% and reduces the load on the knee cap and surrounding ligaments by around 30%. It won’t fix your problems, but this kind of load reduction on an injured or recovering knee, or any kind of muscle wastage problems, is going to make a significant difference in your ability to ski, and the time you can spend skiing.

GOPRO HD CAMERA SYSTEM RENTAL

The incredible GoPro HD camera system offers amazing memories of your trip to the mountains.

We offer a camera system complete with helmet strap, head strap and an SD memory card. A download cable easily moves video to your PC. These cameras offer stunning pictures, and can be seen regularly in use in some amazing BBC documentaries at present, and of course Top Gear too, so pretty indestructible :o)
